Last month, I had the pleasure of discovering the brand new Foix Theater Café, nestled in the heart of downtown. A treasure that I had to try! Accompanied by my friends, we immersed ourselves in the captivating world of Hervé Barbereau and his hypnosis show. Here is my feedback!
A café-theatre with a warm atmosphere
The Café Théâtre de la Poste is discreet from the outside, but once through the door, a whole different world opens up to you. The cozy atmosphere and the wooden ceiling instantly give a feeling of warmth and intimacy. Seated around a round table, we enjoyed a local beer, typical of Ariège, thus immersing ourselves in a bubble of comfort, while waiting for the show to begin.
All this before having in mind a question that everyone was asking at that precise moment…
Will we be susceptible to hypnosis?
When the lights go down and the stage lights up, the excitement builds! Will I find myself acting like a chicken on stage? That’s the question (I’m sure you can’t wait to know the answer 😉)!
If you have never attended a hypnosis show, know that they all start the same way. The hypnotist, Hervé Barbereau in our case, does a test on the spectators. Obviously, in such a confidential place, it's impossible to escape him! He then asked the whole assembly to follow the sound of his voice, to encourage us to stick our fingers together. And there: I couldn't resist! My fingers were sticking more and more, I couldn't do anything! In the second part of the test, I was able to free myself and didn't have to go on stage (and honestly, I was relieved!).
Hervé Barbereau took us on a fascinating journey through time, without us having to go on stage (fortunately!). The hypnotized participants were the real stars of the evening, providing us with hilarious and captivating moments. Hypnosis remains a very impressive and fascinating practice to watch!
