The Col des Marrous is a road pass in Occitanie located in Ariège. From its height of 990 meters, this pass located in the Pyrenees Ariégeoises Natural Park is home to many little wonders which, we are sure, will please you in one way or another: hikes accessible for the whole family , cycling, breathtaking panorama… Anchored between Alzen and the Bosc in the South-West part of our territory, you will be there in around thirty minutes by car from Foix.

The bike for strong calves

This climb is appreciated by cycling enthusiasts, it is often used in recent years by Tour de France riders, like the Col de Port or the Peguère wall. This rise of 9.6 kilometers of distance, offers an interesting challenge with a positive altitude difference of 489 meters and an average slope of 5%.

The highlight of this mountain road is of course the view of Foix and Arize massif. This spot is not only popular with road cyclists, but also with cycling enthusiasts. Moutain Biking. The latter allows you to discover a mountain and wild nature, in another light.

Hikes accessible to all

Personalized hiking in the forest start from the Col des Marrous. Like the Uscla hike having theBlueberry Inn as a starting point. Leave your car in the parking lot in front of the hostel and go on an adventure! You will easily find numerous forest paths where you will discover the local fauna and flora: ideal for a Sunday stroll! Take the time to observe and enjoy the soothing and magical atmosphere of these forests.

Keep your eyes peeled, you might find wild mushrooms or blueberries to enjoy after your walk!

You will be able to wander through the different parts of our territory and come and discover the beauty of these wide open spaces. The Col des Marrous can be discovered in any season, whether in the fall, during the roar of the deer, when its forests are draped in their magnificent orange colors. Winter when the snow appears and the Col des Marrous displays its immaculate white coat. Even if the snow is rare, when it shows up, take out your snowshoes ! This is the best way to discover the pass in the snow.

And to unwind or recover from your day, the little Blueberry Inn welcomes you to spend happy and quiet moments. The place is very relaxing and the meal is hearty. Not to miss !
