Venture to the confines of Barguillère valley not far from Foix in Ariège, Occitanie, to discover the famous Cape of Carmil. From the top of its 1 meters, this cape is a balcony overlooking the Pyrenees, we see many peaks like the Mount Valier or Three Lords Peak.

Heading for the horizon!

Le Cape of Carmil it is a peaceful place where you can easily avoid the crowds. Once you get up there, it’s a blast! A dazzling panorama awaits you, you will be able to see the Pyrenees and enjoy the view of the Montcalm massif in Couserans. It's an almost secret place, where local hikers and trail runners come across each other.

Several routes are possible to get to the Cape of Carmil, the longest and best known route is the one from Col des Marrous, this 15km loop with 654m of elevation gain is considered of average level. This path of hiking allows you to pass through the forest, follow the ridge and always have a summit in sight!

You can also leave from the Col de Péguère for a simple round trip or for a small loop (all information on the routes can be found on site).

You can also go to Cape Carmil by winter when it snows by taking your snowshoes. The magic happens when, from the first step, you make your own mark on the path that leads to the summit. It is then a very different landscape that you will have the chance to admire, with the snowy Pyrenees !
