The abbey of Saint-Volusien is a Southern Gothic church from the 9th century. It is remarkable for the width of its nave and its vast polygonal choir of XNUMX rectangular chapels. You can admire the Roman remains of the first church.
Classified as a historic monument since 1964, it has undergone numerous restorations (façades, paintings, altarpiece of the Sacré Cœur, organ in the gallery). The Entombment is a 11th century terracotta work from the Virebent workshops. This sculpture reveals the sensitivity of the artist in the expressive character of the characters. In summer, guided tours are offered free of charge by parish volunteers. Leaflets in several languages are available. In summer, organ concerts are given in the church every Friday from 30:12 a.m. to 00:XNUMX p.m. (free participation).
