Cinéma l'Estive

Faithful to its original values, the Estive cinema has developed, in Foix and on a traveling circuit in Ariège, to offer a public service cinema. Classified as Arthouse, with a program of discovery films and references for cinephiles.
The Estive cinema comes from an associative project born in 1981 to promote auteur cinema, in Foix and Ariège.

Faithful to its original values, the Estive cinema has developed, in Foix and on a traveling circuit in Ariège, to offer a public service cinema, for everyone.

Classified as Arthouse, it offers a varied program, between discovery films and movie buff references. Broadcast in theaters throughout the year, it takes up summer residence under the stars in many Ariège villages.

Regularly, Estive partners with regional and national players to host highlights dedicated to foreign filmographies (Cinespaña, Cinélatino, etc.) or to cinematographic genres, in Foix and on the Ariège Images circuit. Rich in these partnerships, built over many years, Estive allows you to discover new films, the big names in tomorrow's cinema and to accompany the public and filmmakers on a common path.

Anchored in the territory, the programming is concerned with current issues and places cinema at the center of social questions focused on the future, while maintaining a privileged space for memory.

A player in image education, particularly through the coordination of school and college cinema systems, the Estive cinema and the Ariège Images traveling circuit are ideal places for young spectators to discover cinema. In or out of school, special attention is given to children aged 3 and over.

Every month, programmer Marie Vidal offers events such as thematic film conferences, world films which put a country in the spotlight or my difference films, inclusive sessions for everyone, in partnership with PEPs.

Faced with the growth of digital offers, Estive and Ariège Images remain meeting places where the sharing of experiences, the debate of ideas and conviviality remain essential.

We invite you, young and old, to discover together precious, extraordinary films that will mark our experience as spectators.
