Rencontre littéraire – Les Passagers du Livre avec Gaspard Koenig
Tuesday, December 10 at 18:30 p.m.
Centre Universitaire de l'Ariège Centre Universitaire de l'Ariège 4 rue Raoul Lafagette 09000 Foix 09000 Foix
Through the journey of two friends, Gaspard Koenig tells the story of today's France and its open wounds. A sharp fable and a merciless portrait of society.
Arthur is what you might call a bourgeois, Kevin is what you might call a prole. However, when the two young men meet at Agro, it's love at first sight. Especially since their friendship is forged around a shared conviction: earthworms will save the world.
Having become self-employed, Kevin launched into the vermicompost business while Arthur took over his grandfather's farm, determined to carry out his experiments on the dried-up fields.
But the two young men will have to free themselves, as one rises in society and the other falls, from their illusions and ideals.
Gaspard Koenig tells the story of class struggle, ecological terror, the drying up of land and human relations, the dictates of performance and appearances, the split between the city and the countryside...
A social, political, revolutionary novel, but above all deeply literary.
Gaspard Koenig is a committed philosopher, author of a dozen books and founder of the SIMPLE movement. “Humus” marks his return to the novel after several essays including “Notre vagabonde liberté” (Observatoire, 2021).
In partnership with the association l'Œil du souffleur, the Majuscule Surre bookstore.
With Occitanie Livre et Lecture and the Ariège University Center.
In partnership with the Une note de vin cellar and the Phoebus restaurant.
