Festival Ingénieuse Afrique

2024 program:
This year we will find the 28th edition of the Ingénieuse Afrique festival from August 2 to 4, 2024, still in the city center of Foix, with free evening concerts under the hall.

– Sunday 21:30 p.m.: Babaï Lugu & Alala Katsa Katsa, Malagasy afro-folk.

The public garden, which has become a garden of talents, will host activities, workshops, demonstrations of the know-how of the bronze maker, the batikier, the weaver, the wood sculptor, the creator of musical instruments, the sculptor of recycled materials, etc.
The craft market will be held on the alleys of Villote opposite the town hall. You can stroll through the stands offering all kinds of products from the African continent (pottery, clothing, jewelry, groceries, arts, musical instruments, delicacies, etc.), take a moment with the writers who have come to present their works, browse and bring back all kinds of literature, exchange with humanitarian associations like SOS Méditerranée…
Just opposite, the rooms on the ground floor of the town hall will offer exhibitions and cinema.
It will also be possible to do dance or percussion courses.
And of course, the open stage placed at the very end of the market in the shade of the plane trees will welcome musicians, poets and artists of all stripes all day long and in the evening after the concerts in search of a moment of musical sharing.
The festival is freely accessible. All activities are free (excluding courses). It is located outdoors, in the heart of the city. This means that the population does not have to go towards African culture, it is the culture that comes to them.
The association is very committed to maintaining total free access so that all people can participate in all the activities.
