Atelier des Altérés
Small ceramic workshop located near Foix, they mainly produce turned stoneware tableware. Their pieces are shaped on a potter's wheel then decorated one by one... Each one is a unique piece!
On the still raw piece is placed a decoration of colored clays (slip technique) in which a pattern can be engraved with a needle; then a first firing at 980° is carried out.
Then an enamel is applied, formulated from wood ashes (sifted very very fine…); finally comes the second firing, at 1280°, which will ensure the fusion of the enamel, as well as the optimal solidity of the stoneware.
